Kilmurry 1 - 7 Donoughmore 0 - 5 Kilmurry are through to the quarter final stage of the Mid Cork championship and a meeting with Aghinagh after their win over reigning champions Donoughmore at Coachford. Without being overly impressive, Kilmurry got the job done and they were the better side. They led by 0-4 to 0-1 at half time and wrapped up their victory in the ten minutes after the break. William Buckley pointed a free which was matched by a point for Donoughmore, also from a free. In the 39th minute Dave O'Halloran fired in shot which Evan Forde stopped but could not hold and William Buckley swept in to drive the loose ball to the Donoughmore net. They subsequently led by 1-7 to 0-2 but they were under siege from Donoughmore in the final quarter. Donoughmore lacked forward power however and Aidan O'Shea was to be their only scorer with all five points to his credit. Kilmichael 0 - 8 Inniscarra 0 - 7 Kilmichael footballers are through to their first Mid Cork semi final since 1996 after their win by the narrowest of margins at Carrigadrohid. It was a very close affair all through with Kilmichael leading at the break by 0-4 to 0-2. On the restart, Aidan O'Mahony had a third Inniscarra point but then Kilmichael hit back with points from Danny Twomey, Adrian Kelly, James O'Leary and Colm Dromey to put them 0-8 to 0-3 in front after 40 minutes. Iveleary 2 - 11 Macroom 1 - 6 Iveleary were fancied to beat the Macroom second string when they met at Annahala and after an even first half the western side established their superiority in the second half and were comfortable enough winners at the finish. The goals were central to the Iveleary win. The first came in the 10th minute when David Hourihan won a ball off a defender out on the left wing, moved it on to Brian Cronin who in turn set up Ger McSweeney and from close range Ger made no mistake and billowed the Macroom net. This score put Iveleary in front 1-1 to 0-1 and they led by 1-4 to 0-3 at the break. A punched goal from Ger McSweeney (Barry Murphy's pass) in the 48th minute saw Iveleary now lead by 2-7 to 0-4 and it was obvious that Macroom did not have the power in attack to break down the Iveleary defence sufficiently to wipe out that lead. Macroom efforts were rewarded with a goal from a well taken John Ryan penalty and points from Conor Hurley but there was no denying Ivelearys. Iveleary: Joseph Creedon: Gerard O'Riordan, Michael Creed, Kevin Hourihan: Barry Murphy, Donal Cotter, Shane Galvin: Edward Buckley, Daniel O'Riordan; Finbarr McSweeney, Sean Lehane, Donal O'Sullivan: David Hourihan, Gerard McSweeney, Brain Cronin. Dripsey 1 - 11 Blarney 0 - 7 Dripsey, having dispatched Donoughmore the 2011 champions in the first round, have now beaten Blarney, the champions of 2009 and 2010 in the quarter final of the Mid Cork championship and are through to the semi final stage and a meeting with Iveleary. Their form early on in this game was not great but they opened up in the second half and finished in superb fashion. Blarney led by 0-5 to 0-3 at the break. The third quarter was even enough but Dripsey were beginning to get on top and the sides were level at 0-7 each as the last ten minutes dawned. David O'Sullivan had the lead point in the 53rd minute followed by another point from Aidan Murray three minutes later. In the 57th minute came the icing on the Dripsey cake as Mark O'Sullivan set up David O'Sullivan for the golden goal. Dripsey: Ray Moynihan: Barry Kelleher, Thomas Ahearne, Pat O'Riordan: John Carey, Stephen Murray, John Buckley; Conor Hayes, Mark O'Sullivan: Barry O'Regan, Aidan Buckley, David Buckley: Shane Burke, Aidan Murray, David O'Sullivan.
