Mark Coleman Named Muskerry Sports Star Of The Year

The Muskerry GAA Gala Awards Dinner were held in the Oriel Court Hotel Ballincollig on Saturday February 17th when Cork Camogie and Ladies Football star Rena Buckley, Inniscarra and Donoughmore, was honoured for her outstanding achievement in winning 18 senior All Ireland medals.  Minister for Agriculture, Michael Creed TD Macroom presented Rena with her award, a hand painted portrait of All Ireland day 2017.

Cork senior hurler, Mark Coleman of Blarney, was named The Muskerry GAA Sports Star of the Year 2017 and received his award from Ms Eileen O’Flynn, Auld Triangle Bar and Restaurant, Macroom, sponsors of the award scheme.  Mark was chosen from the distinguished list of monthly winners each of whom received a presentation from Mr Ronan Fahy, manager Oriel Court Hotel, who were co-sponsors of the awards ceremony.   The monthly winners in 2017 were  Chris Óg Jones (Iveleary), Daniel Ó Duinnín (Cill na Martra), Mark Coleman (Blarney), Peter Kelleher (Kilmichael), Joe Ryan (Kilmurry), Aoife Murray (Cloughduv), Kevin Hallissey (Éire Óg), Niamh McCarthy (Inniscarra).

Muskerry Junior Hurling and Muskerry Junior Football teams of 2017 were also announced and honoured at the dinner.
