Niamh McCarthy October Auld Triangle and Muskerry Award Winner

December 06, 2017

The eighth and final award winner for 2017 went to Inniscarra camogie player Niamh McCarthy. The 21 year old played an instrumental role in October helping her club win the senior championship final for the second year in a row, after victory over Glen Rovers, 2-13 to 1-10. September was also a memorable month for the youngster, as she played a vital role in the Cork senior team win, yet another All-Ireland title, defeating Kilkenny, 0-10 to 0-9. For McCarthy to be playing such a vital role is remarkable given she suffered two cruciate ligament injuries in 2011 and 2013.

Niamh was presented with her trophy at The Auld Triangle surrounded by family, friends, team mates and club officers.
