Muskerry Cup Final
Kilmurry 2 â 9 Canovee 0 â 11
Goals in the first and final minutes of this closely contested Muskerry Cup final at Kilmichael were the decisive scores in a Kilmurry victory. Daniel Cahalaneâs goal in the first minute inspired Kilmurry to put a great first quarter performance and to lead by 1-4 to nil with two points from James White and one each from Finbarr Crowley and Greg Barrett. Canoveeâs Mark Verling pointed two frees early in the second quarter to get his side on the board and from there to the interval the holders more than held their own, as reflected in the half time score of 1-6 to 0-5.
The second half was an intriguing affair as Canovee cut steadily into the Kilmurry lead. Three Canovee points from Conor Hughes were answered by points from Jonathan Buckley and Dave McCarthy to maintain the four point gap with six minutes to go but then Canovee upped the pressure and two points from Mark Verling and one from Conor Hughes left only a point between the sides, 1-9 to 0-11, as the game went into injury time. Canovee were pressing forward for an equaliser when Kilmurry broke forward quickly and Jonathan Buckley provided the clinical finish to seal victory for Kilmurry.

Macroom Motors U21 Football Championship Finals
U21 A Championship Final
Inniscarra 4 â 7 Macroom 2 â 10
A excellent 2015 Macroom Motors Mid Cork U 21 Football A grade championship was brought to a fitting conclusion at Annahala when Inniscarra and Macroom produced a top quality final. Three points separated the teams at the finish and overall Inniscarra were deserving winners and so they add a second title to their only other previous success in 2001.
After a fine opening period by Macroom, the pace of this game was being forced by Inniscarra with Macroom playing catch up for most of the first half and the early part of the second half. Macroom got on top in the last quarter but had left themselves with too much to do at that stage.
The half time score was 3-5 to 1-7 in favour of the winners, but Macroom were not out of the game by any means. One felt that Macroom needed a good start to the second half, but in fact it was Inniscarra who got the boost. In the 37th minute, Inniscarra went on the attack and Seán OâDonoghue got possession in the right corner cut in and gave Declan Kiely no chance at all from close range. Undaunted, Macroom hit back with a superb goal from John Murphy after a great run out of defence by Kevin OâDwyer. Seán Lynch pointed for âScarra, John Murphy did likewise for Macroom, 4-6 to 2-8 the score at the three quarter stage.
Scorers: Inniscarra: T OâConnor 1-2, S OâDonoghue 1-2 (0-1f), S Dornan 1-1, D Barry 1-0, L Collins and S Lynch 0-1 each. Macroom: J Murphy, 1-4, A Quinn 1-1, D Horgan 0-2 (F), D Creedon 0-2, C Foskett 0-1.

U21 B Championship Final:
Cill na Martra 0 â 10 Ãire Ãg 0 â 7
Cill na Martra beat a good Ãire Ãg team more comprehensively than the scoreline suggests and in truth the winners played the better football from start to finish and should not have been vulnerable to a late Ãire Ãg rally which could have denied them victory. Winners of the C championship last year, Cill na Marta will be in A next season and with all but one of the present side still under age they will be a handful for any opposition. Ãire Ãg were well fancied by many to win this final but they found themselves on the back foot from the throw in and never really got on top of the opposition.
There was a gale blowing and it favoured Cill na Marta in the first half and the Gaeltacht men got of to a great start. Full forward Dan à DuinnÃn was razor sharp and Cill na Martra led by 0-8 to 0-2 at the interval.
As the second half progressed it became obvious that Ãire Ãg could not open up the extremely hard working Cill na Martra defence. In the 47th minute, John Cronin set up Damian Harrington for a vital point to increase the Cill na Martra lead but this was to be the winnerâs last score. Donncadh Kelly and Darragh McCarthy had two fine points for Ãire Ãg to cut the deficit to five with ten minutes remaining and Cill na Martra then wasted a chance to finish off the opposition. Five minutes from time, as the tempo increased further, Daniel OâConnor had a point for the Ovens men and when Ronan OâToole added another point two minutes later only a single goal now separated the sides. The Cill na Martra defence remained composed however and Cill na Martra retained their three point lead to the final whistle.
Scorers: Cill na Martra: D à DuinÃn 0-5 (0-1f), D à hUrdail 0-2 (0-1f), M à Deasúna 0-2 (0-1f), S à Foirréidh 0-1. Ãire Ãg: D OâConnor 0-2, D McCarthy, C Murphy, D Murphy, D Kelly, R OâToole 0-1 each.

C Championship Final
Iveleary 2 â 16 Clondrohid 0 â 9
The U21 C final at Annahala was notable for the individual performance of Iveleary centre forward Cathal Vaughan who finished with a personal tally of 1-11, only 0-2 of which came from frees. The Toons Bridge man had an unfortunate season last year, when injury eventually ruined what had started off as a very promising year but the Cork U21 man is coming back to form.
Iveleary had the benefit of the very strong wind in the first half and made full use of it. Cathal Vaughan had a point directly after the throw in and then billowed the Clondrohid net. Vaughan began to score from all angles and distances and closed the first half scoring with his tenth point of the half.
On the resumption Alan Duggan twice thwarted Iveleary and Darren Dineen had a Clondrohid point from play in the 38th minute, followed by one from a free and Mark Creed pointed in the 42nd minute to leave the score at 1-13 to 0-7. Early in the final quarter Liam Kearney connected with a Barry OâLeary centre to smash to the net and end the contest.
Scorers: Iveleary: C Vaughan 1-11 (0-2f), L Kearney 1-1, B OâLeary 0-2, M à Lionáird and K Jones 0-1 each. Clondrohid: D Dineen 0-4 (0-2f), C Creedon, S Quinn, M Creed, D Lynch and B Corcoran 0-1 each.
