Grenagh   2 - 14     Donoughmore   0 - 8

Grenagh kept on course for a final showdown by defeating Donoughmore under lights at Cloughduv in the last of the quarterfinals.  Their winning margin of twelve points may be a bit flattering but there is no doubt that Grenagh were the better side and fully deserved their victory.

Two early points for Grenagh were followed by a Tadgh Walsh goal in the 10th minute to get the winners off to a fine start. Both sides swapped scores thereafter and so at the interval it was 1-7 to 0-5 in favour of Grenagh. Donoughmore needed to cut into the Grenagh lead on the restart but instead it was the winners who increased their lead with a further three points added to their score with centrefielder Niall Doherty the powerhouse for Grenagh.  Grenagh increased their lead further still with their second goal at the three quarter mark, this one from Martin Barry, and in the final quarter Grenagh outscored Donoughmore by four points to two as they made their way impressively into the semi final.  Scorers: Grenagh: Niall Doherty 0-10 (0-6 frees, 0-1 ‘65'), M. Cloughduv   2 - 21     Eire Og   0 - 3

Cloughduv  are still on track to make it four Mid Cork Junior Hurling titles in a row after this comprehensive victory over Eire Og in the first semi final, played at a warm and sunny Coachford.  Eire Og were never a match for the sharp champions who served notice once again that they are intent on continuing their winning ways in Mid Cork.  There was a very strong wind and Eire Og had the advantage of the elements in the first half.  When they were in trouble after the opening quarter it was clear that there was only going to be one result and that was how it transpired. Darragh Ring pointed a Cloughduv free in the first minute, Donal Corkery pointed from play three minutes later and Darren Kelly struck over a smashing point in the 8thminute.   Ring pointed another free and Eire Og goalkeeper Paul Coakley had made a super save from a Brian Ahern shot before Donal Corkery scored a classy point, holding a pass on the stick before lashing over the Eire Og crossbar.  When Darragh Ring pounced on indecision in the Eire Og goalmouth in the 15th minute before firing home the first goal for Cloughduv the result looked inevitable already.  Sean O'Connor added another point for Cloughduv before Brian Kirwin opened the Eire Og account with a point from a free and Vincent Fahy doubled their score in the 23rd minute with another point.  Back came Cloughduv with points from a Darragh Ring free, another from Ring from play and one from Con Dunne. Ronan Sills had a third Eire Og point, this one from a free, but Darragh Ring ended the first half scoring with a late point to leave Cloughduv leading by 1-10 to 0-3 at the interval.   Cloughduv with the wind increased their tally with a succession of points without really going flat out.  Darren Kelly was presented with a gilt edged chance of a goal in the 55th minute after hard work by Tom O'Mahony and Donal Corkery and the corner forward duly availed of the opportunity.  Eire Og failed to score in the second half but in fairness they battled on to the finish in an uneven contest.
