Dripsey edged out Donoughmore in this thrilling Ross Oil JAFC replay at Coachford yesterday.   The game went to extra-time after Dripsey snatched an equaliser on the stroke of fulltime through their inspirational midfielder Mark O'Sullivan. Dripsey had the momentum heading into overtime and they sealed the victory with three points in the opening period. 

Donoughmore appeared to be cruising to victory following   a tremendous third quarter where they   led by 0-10 to 0-5.  However Dripsey launched a magnificent comeback and despite missing a penalty they scored three points in the closing minutes of normal time.

Colm O'Callaghan enjoyed a great start to this game and his excellent brace gave Donoughmore the perfect start. Dripsey's Diarmuid O'Riordan was proving an ideal target man and his well taken score left his side trailing by the minimum, 0-3 to 0-2 after 20 minutes.

 Aidan Buckley added a brace for Dripsey but Shane Sexton and Tom Daly replied to leave the sides level, 0-5 apiece at the break.   Shane Burke did have a glorious chance to find the net for Dripsey but his shot went narrowly wide.

Donoughmore totally dominated the third quarter of the game and they scored five points without reply. Aidan O'Shea was particularly effective during this period while substitute Daniel Forde landed a superb long range effort.

Shane Burke and Mark O'Sullivan replied for Dripsey which reduced the gap to three, 0-10 to 0-7 after 47 minutes. Moments later a well struck penalty from David O'Sullivan went narrowly wide of the post.  Despite the penalty miss, Dripsey battled ferociously for possession and points from David O'Sullivan, Aidan Buckley and Mark O'Sullivan ensured the sides were level at fulltime, 0-10 apiece.

Dripsey converted two early chances through Barry O'Regan and David O'Sullivan.  A placed effort from Aidan Buckley ensured Dripsey led by, 0-14 to 0-11 at the break.  Shane Sexton reduced the gap to two points but Mark O'Sullivan was magnificent in the closing stages of the game as he dominated the midfield battle.
