-Éire Óg 3-18-

-Kilmichael 1-19-

....Éire Óg are through to the MJK Oils JAHC Final after seeing off a determined Kilmichael challenge at Cloughduv. Cork senior footballer Ronan O’Toole was in tremendous form scoring 1-6 from play in a man of the match performance. Credit to Kilmichael who battled bravely throughout with their talisman Peter Kelleher constantly threatening. The new Cork management should give the towering Kilmichael forward an opportunity this winter. His ball winning ability is quite outstanding and he also possesses plenty of natural scoring ability from both sides.

The aforementioned Ronan O’Toole registered the opening score with a trademark solo run and tidy finish. Kelleher replied with a good score from play before Éire Óg’s excellent free taker Eoin Lyons landed two placed efforts. Éire Óg’s Michael O’Shea landed a beauty from play before Kilmichael’s Conor Cotter shot inches wide of the post after a superb move with Chris O’Connell. Both free takers were busy in the second quarter while O’Toole and Michael O’Shea landed points from play for the Ovens side. Crucially, Eoin Lyons grabbed a long delivery from Tim O’Leary and rattled the net, 1-11 to 0-9 at the break.

Kilmichael responded well with two outstanding points from midfielder Conor Cotter. An outstanding point from Kelleher was followed by a third score from Conor Cotter which reduced the gap to the minimum. From the puckout Ronan O’Toole grabbed the ball powered forward and launched an unstoppable shot to the Kilmichael net. Kelleher responded by landing an excellent free from a very tight angle and Chris O’Connell reduced the gap to four points after 48 minutes as Kilmichael pressed strongly.

However, a defensive error allowed Jerome Kelleher score a third Éire Óg goal which proved the decisive score. As the game petered out the Ovens side lost their skipper Tim O’Leary after receiving a second yellow. Eoin Lyons tapped over after he was hauled down for a penalty deep in injury time. Éire Óg will now face old rivals Cloughduv in the Muskerry decider.
